At the Breckenridge ski resort, there are many things to do for the family. Some activities include biking, climbing, horseback riding, attractions such as the Breckenridge main street museum and the Eisenhower Tunnel, swimming, fishing, hunting, golf courses, boating, and the Breckenridge Alpine Slide.

The Breckenridge Alpine Slide which is built as a large giant slalom course. The Breckenridge Alpine Slide has dips and curves and steep turns that are more for the experienced slider. There is also a part of the slide that is more for the novice slider or for the kids to have fun on. Each of the sleds that you ride down the slide on, can hold one adult and one child so that the children do not have to go down by themselves unless they are old enough.

The Breckenridge Alpine Slide is at the base of Peak 8 and when you want to ride on the Breckenridge Alpine Slide in Colorado, you have to ride up the two-person chairlift to the mountain. The slide is made up of concrete tracks that are built into the side of mountain and the slide can be rode in the summer or in the winter.

You ride on a plastic sled that you can control with a brake and accelerator but your mostly using the brake unless you love the thrill of speed. There are a lot of turns and twists and it banks just like a luge ride in the Olympics. As you go down the slide, there is a lot of scenery to be seen in both the winter and the summer. Especially in the summer, when there are the beautiful trees to view and all of the wildflowers and there is even local wildlife to be seen to.

The pricing on the Breckenridge Alpine Slide is a bit pricey but it is well worth it for you and your family. It is $20.00 per adult for two rides down the mountain and if one of your children ride with you, they are free if they are two to six years old. You can pay for the Breckenridge Alpine Slide singly or you can purchase an all day pay at the Breckenridge Peak 8 fun park which lets you ride all the rides and see all the attractions all day long unlimited.
